About Michaela

Michaela Minock is a dancer, actor, and educator in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She recently completed a Master of Education degree at Rutgers University in New Jersey and holds a Tier 3 teaching license from the state of Minnesota. She completed her student teaching at three elementary schools in the Franklin Township Public Schools district in New Jersey, teaching in virtual, hybrid, and in-person environments. While at Rutgers, Michaela joined the National Dance Education Organization and Dance New Jersey and was inducted into the National Honor Society for Dance Arts. She also danced as a member of FutureStep Tap Company and Rutgers Ballroom Dance Club. Previously, Michaela received a B.A. in Performing Arts with a Dance Emphasis from Iowa State University, graduating summa cum laude and with honors from the University Honors Program. While there, she participated in five dance groups, performed in over 25 shows, and choreographed over a dozen works in styles including ballet, modern, jazz, tap, and lyrical. She had opportunities to work with guest artists from the Joe Goode Performance Group and Deborah Slater Dance Theater, and she was a recipient of the Anna R. Toman Dance Award and the Charlotte Wilkinson Memorial Award. Michaela’s love for teaching dance began at the age of 15 when she was asked to be an assistant teacher at Dance Alive! Dance Studio in Manteno, IL. Over the next three years, she helped lead classes in ballet and jazz for dozens of students between the ages of 4 and 11. She loved sharing the joy of dance with her students and watching them improve their skills, and the students inspired and energized her in her own practice. Michaela has been dancing for over 20 years and hopes to never stop!
